This is my original tank and well it sits in for 1984 CJ7 . I wanted to separate the two clean them up and re use. Not so easy. I also can't find replacements to match. Any ideas?

I would suggest searching online. There are a few big box 4wd outfits the should have them. Like Four Wheel Parts Wholesalers, 4wd Hardware, Morris, and you should find a few more. Make sure you replace all those hoses.

Why can’t you separate them? Can you not get the strap removed? If not, cut it. You can get a new one. Once apart, you should be able to clean up the poly tank and reuse it. If the well/skid is not rusted out, you should be able to sand/blast it and repaint and reuse it.

What is causing you to say “Not so easy”?

I have searched for replacement but can not find same. I can get the strap out of the way but the lining in between the tank and the well are like a finger trap.

Maybe you can get something between them along the side to pry and let air between them. I would say drill a small hole in the bottom of the skid, but you would need to be REALLY careful not to hit the poly tank or it would be garbage quickly.

I swapped in a 20 gallon for my 15 and got them off a friend who listed then on Craigslist. They are out there used. But you have one. I did not look for a new one so I do not know about aftermarket replacements.

Hope you get them separated.

Get some of those wooden paint stirrers you get from the paint store and slide'em in-between the tank and the skid plate.
That has always worked for me.

That may work. I actually dropped it off with the gut who is going to sand blast it for me. I think just having it in a warm shop may help. I had it outside and it is really cold here and we had snow and rain that may have seeped in
