ok after searching around trying to fix my fuel gauge problem. i found it. i had a blown fuse in the fuse labled IGN LPS. so i replaced it. and now every time i turn the key to on that fuse blows right away. can someone explain to me why this is happening. I'm still learning how to do all this stuff but so far you guys have helped me out more then i can explain. so can you guys help me out with this one too

I would suggest getting an electrical schematic to help you trace down that short circut. For example on my '86, the power to the ign/lps fuse comes from the same wire that powers the ignition control module(The red wire to it) which is powered from the ignition switch. On the other side of the fuse, it goes to the fuel gauge, oil pressure gauge, instrument cluster 4wd lite, and electronic engine controls.
