Gas Mileage?

Gas Mileage?
I also keep a spreadsheet of my mileage and record every time I fill up.
I started out getting 11 or 12 mpg with my carb...... Stayed near there when I switched to tbi fuel injection.

Once I fine tuned the tbi and got it running right I get 16-17 mpg consistently now.

I still record and keep track as since the switch my gas gauge isn't accurate. A full fill up will register as 3/4 a tank and after a few miles it will read empty even if I have over 1/2 a tank of fuel.

I keep the log on my phone and know to fill up when I creep close to 300 miles (I've got a 20 gal tank).

Is that mileage using the stock uncalibrated odometer? I use a GPS unit to figure gas mileage.
My speedo is calibrated correctly, I have checked it with GPS plus use the little "your speed is" radar displays they put up to see if my speedo matches with their radar.

Yeah, my gas gauge isn't accurate either. It shows full when I top it off but drops rapidly and when it shows empty I still have a 1/4 tank. I ran the DARS on mine and determined that it is the fuel tank sending unit that it is bad. I haven't done anything about it yet because I plan on upgrading to a 20 from a 15 gallon tank sometime in the future.
I used to have a 94 Dana 20 nissan that had a fuel gauge that didn't work at all so I have some practice knowing when to top off by feel; plus I have a 5 gallon Jerry Can with me at all times just in case I guess wrong.
