Brought it home today but not with out incident. Going down the interstate the drivshaft fell out. Seems one of the ujoint bolts broke. That was a 200 yard walk to go get the driveshaft. Then had to drive the rest of the 20 miles at 45 MPH with a vibration. Now the build starts!! But will be slightly interrupted by hunting season.

It looks to be in fair condition. The fun begins. I hope the drive shaft falling out didn't do any damage. Have fun and keep us posted on your progress.

OK, I like that list that is one here but I have added a couple things to the list. I had to. I want to put a header on this jeep right off. I want to add the dui distributor and maybe a carb upgrade. Im thinking of pulling the motor and redoing everything except change the piston. New oil pump resurface the head and all new gaskets. As soon as I wash it I'm going to do a compression check on it. I guess that will make my mind up about all these questions. On the way home the gaguge read 220 degrees. Is this good? It has a flex fan with no shroud. I'm gonna make a shroud. (thanks Air Force for the sheetmetal training)

 Looks like a great start! Looking forward to seeing what you decide to do.

For now the front bumper has gotta go. I have a couple designs floating around in my head for a winch bumper. I get to work on that thursday since im off. In the mean time I just placed an $1100 order with morris.

I like the silver, it'd look freaking awesome with some decals on it....

I like it. Once you start it's hard to know when to quit

I came home today armed with 6 cans of oven cleaner, two cans of engine cleaner and a gallon of purple power. Gonna jack it up as high as I can get it. Take the back wheels, brake drums off. SPray it down good with all this stuff then pressure wash it tomorrow. Pictures to come later tonight.

Thanks for the comments on the silver. I have always wanted to do a silver paint job and put ghost flames on it. Guess this is my chance. I'm gonna get it road worthy and drive it till hunting season is over. (And mt sweethearts 65 chevy is done) then it's the jeeps turn.

Needless to say my pressure washer paid for itself today. I found a body mount broke, quite a bit of some type of filler???? No big deal though.

Up early today, more pressure washing and getting the drivers side brake drum off.

You need a shower. :D Lookin better though. You'll appreciate the work that pressure washer did once you bust out the wrenches.
Thats me covered with dirt

Man was there some mud under that jeep guys! It's round two today. I get off at 1 friday and hope to start on the bumper. I brought the winch home today.

My Gawd it's killin me to get out and ride around in this jeep. I busted that damn yoke changing then u joint tonight. After some thought I decided to go ahead and get the 4" lift.

Im gonna hate going through deer season not doing anything to this jeep
