i got the jeep blues :(. i have my msd box to put in, my tube steps to sand and paint, and i just want to drive it. then theres the problem. my wife works 10 hours a day and she always works the weekends when im off. so i get to watch the kids all weekend. just seems like i never have time for the jeep anymore :(

The world will turn, this will change/evolve.

Don't worry, time will go fast, sometimes way too fast next thing you know the kids are getting cars of thier own and the only way you talk is texting on the damned cell phones. Life gets too busy, enjoy the slow times, make great memories and include the jeep when they get a little older.:)
Do NOT get rid of the jeep!!!
Got rid of mine many years ago and regret it BIG TIME now. No all I have is a CJ7 project that doesn't even run.:( and the kids left too :(.

Make the best of it!

I feel your pain....
I just sent my wife and child out to the city for the weekend, so I can have the whole weekend to work on the Jeep! Now if I can just get over this 24 hr bug she gave me last night...

dont have to worry about getting rid of the jeep. its been in my wifes family since it was new. i guess since its not real warm out yet im afraid to take my 4 month old son outside to sit while im working on it. my 5 year old daughter is like me. she just wants to go take it out mudding lol.

I watch the kids and mess with the Jeep at the same time.:)

my problem is when i get into a project i tend to block everything else out and i cant do that with the kids.

lol my 5 year old daughter i dont have to worry about. she will either help me or play on the swing set. its my 4 month old son i got to worry about.

Carpet creepers, are the priority.....

yep. maybe by summer time it will be better. he will be older and it will be warmer. the wife wont let me take him for a ride cause she is worried he will go flying out the back window lol.

well the jeep hasnt been started in over a month. while the baby was sleeping i grabbed the keys and went out and she fired right up :D. you got to love that. in that month we have had below freezing to 80 back to freezing to 60s now. still didnt get to drive her though :(

ah sure you can put em on a leash and a little stake out beside the drive way, that way they can run around in a circle. although the authorities might frown on it. i don't know if i should reproduce or not, its up in the air at this point.

Even as the kids mamma this made me laugh hystarically lol.

well its the weekend. its raining out. the wife finally has the weekend off so what to do. the daughter and i went out muddin lol. man it felt good to get the old girl out and beat alittle on her again. she scared my once when we came up to a stop sign and died. had to hold the gas to the floor to get it started. im hoping the gas gauge not working has something to do with this lol. dont remember the last time i put gas in her cause its been so long since i had her out. man i got to fix that some time. but it sure felt good to get her out again :D

I never had kids ,Jeep my brains out. now pushing 45 who will change me when I get old?

the blues are back dang it :( i need to get a bonus or sell alot of stuff to get a radiator. seems like every summer that we have had the cj it sits with something broke on it. i want to rip the doors off and go for a ride. it sucks being broke.

My wife and I work opposite night shifts so our son doesn't have to be in any type of daycare. The days and nights I spend with are precious but every now and then I feel like you posted then I remember. When he turns 4 we are going wheelin'. I have promised him that and use it for leverage to get him to learn a new skill. He loves Jeeps and points them out all the time.

Hang in there. It will change soon einough. Work on the little projects while they sleep. You would be amazed how fast something gets done if you do a little at a time. Keep up the good work by being a constant presence in your kids life and your chance to play will come soon.
