i am currently CJ7 deprived, but looking to purchase
What is "full time 4WD" in a '76 CJ7 ?

Was this a normal stock feature for all automatics?
Wanting to use as a daily driver.

I'm not overly familiar with the automatics, but I believe what you have is a "QuadraTrac " and I am pretty sure this is a stock item on automatics.
 
There are quite a few of them around. Hopefully, someone with one can come on and give you the info you are looking for. Otherwise, net searching should help you out. My wife's Grand Cherokee has a much newer version and it works great, especially when the weather gets nasty on the highway.
