So while trying to replace the rubber trim around the glass of the drivers door, the glass shattered. yeah...I know, I know. Anyway, new glass gets here today. I haven't yet tried to take it apart to see how difficult it would be to replace it. Any advice as to the steps and if a novice like myself can git er done or not would be appreciated.

The wing window and it's shared rail have to come out first and go in last, after the new window glass. And it has to be lowered the entire way so the stop thats attached to the bottom of the door, on the inside, has to be removed to gain that extra inch or so.
While it's out it's a good time to clean old grease off and replace it from the mechanical parts. And if you have the common "metal tear" on the inside (or even the outside) of the door where the wing rail intersects the top of the door bottom; now's the time to weld it.

Theres a good write up on the repair of a Jeep door by jscherb in his Gaucho truck thread. It's long so search for door repair or something like that, within this thread.

Got it done...replaced the inner and outer seals while I was at it. It actually rolls up and down too.

Good job. Did you take any pics during the surgery?

Sure didn't. I never think of doing that till after. I plan on taking pics and vid when I pull and replace my Carb with a 2150.

I will be watching that because I want to do the same thing.

Next week, that is my project. The carb is sitting in the garage ready to go. I also am going to do the nutter bypass at the same time. I will be filming with a Gopro and then have my son help me edit it down to post. Looking on the web, there is no good start (remove old carb) to finish for the 2150.

It looks pretty cut and dry I think the hardest part is the throttle cable and maybe the chock.
