Which is basically what I said. Vehicles can be operate how they are built so AMC made all tops dealer options so they can be driven with no top as originally built. This means build sheets will not state a top or color.

I was told that AMC had the dealers do this install. So AMC could 1, get the jeeps out faster and 2, then the dealers had to pay for the labor.
Made since to me, because the 'bean-counters' were run'n AMC.
