76-86, you can make a YJ (87-95) fit, but the tailgate won't open.

I have an 86 cj just put a 95 hardtop on but my 86 soft doors dont fit on the upper portion of door opening......
my solid 95 half doors fit great as well
the problem is in the upper portion of the opening only

You can use a YJ top but as stated will need YJ uppers or full doors and you will have to change out the door striker/latch as well.
