I got an email last Friday from a friend wanting to sell their 1960 Willys 2 Door wagon. (I felt pretty awesome once I realized she emailed me for a first offer!) but she sent me pictures and it looked nice. Flathead 225ci. 6 with a T-90 . I've read that they produced about 72 horsepower. Have any of you guys driven one or owned one that could tell me if she had power? The PO said that they would never own a hurricane or L134 "Go Devil" out in their parts because of the mountainous middle part of Pa. It appears to be in really good shape with the exception of some minor floor work. It's old flat black and they said it runs extremely well for sitting 20 years. It is a 4 wheel drive model. I may go pick it up next weekend. I have huge plans for this beast. 4 inch lift and maybe some 32s and a beautiful red paint job with a cream secondary color. I just hope the 6 cylinder will push Nice size 32. I'm only 16 and if this Jeep becomes mine, it will be No.5. I must say I was bitten by the Jeep bug at an early age.

I hate you... I spent months out there in Pa., last year building my CJ, (I still love the hardtop you sold me by the way), and was looking for an Overlander the whole time. Checked a couple out that were pretty much toast, and then this falls in your lap... yep, I hate you...:chug: << these are root beers, by the way, so enjoy! :D

You could always bolt in a Dauntles V6, or just bite the bullet for a V8 swap...

Hahaha Niedhog I'm really glad u like the hardtop!! I'm really glad it went to someone who appreciates it! The wagon came about though a contact here in PA. The owner had it sitting in a barn out here and just decided to sell it a week ago! I was the first person she emailed! And I might Keep her original. The owner said that the engine in it has a ton of power! I hope she has enough to spin 32s! If there's anymore I come accross I'll think of you first!

 it says you are 59 you just young at heart or what.

no my dad started this account, and i saw him on it one day and i decided to take it over because ive read the books. he started it for my 77 project then as it went on i kept getting on and doing my thing so he just said u can take it over. i have no idea how to change the age:confused:

Ok so Jeep runs in the blood. My brother had one and it had a bigger GM 6 in it and it ran real good. So if it does't have the power you want you can always do a motor swap to get what you want thats what's fun about these older Jeeps the are easy to make them what you want. Alot of the time all it takes is a set of lower gears to make it run like a whole differant Jeep.

I have heard that there is a deep dark corner of the fiery pit reserved for guys that fate brings 1960 Willys wagons to that do not restore them to original. that is just what I heard.

I would say that without major modification the Willys will never be any more than a marginal and novel off road vehicle.

Now as a restoration you will get invites to drive it in the 4th of July parade and maybe even get it into a movie or two.:D

I have thought of building a 50s or 60s Willys PU for truly serious, trailer queen sort of off roading but I would not have need for much more than the body, doors, front clip and bed. The drive train would never be suitable for this millennium.

IMHO:cool:

I have a CJ7 because i couldnt find one of these. looking forward to seeing your build

I anticipated on the axels being a problem. i wont run a heavy lug. maybe BF Goodrich All terrains. but any way i plan on picking her up next week. and the Cj will probably get painted after Memorial day. going to be really busy
