headlights and dash lights going of when letting off gas, after wash

I just washed my CJ7 , 86 model, and after I washed it I drove it around and back into the garage, by the time i was finishing up the interior clean up it was staring to get dark,
anyway I turned on the lights and they started going off when i let off accelerator, and as soon as I hit accelerator they came back on but as I gave it more gas they got brighter, It reminded me of a 2stoke dirt bike or atv that didnt have a battery and your lights would dim at idle and brighter when on the gas,
headlights, dash lights and all,
I parked the Jeep, and turned off the engine and restarted and it wasnt doing it then, I am going to check it in the morning,
my thought was a bad ground but I was hoping someone had some insight on this issue

I agree with a bad ground, maybe one of the main ground wires, either the one going from the battery to the block or the actual terminal on the battery.

Or, you could have an alternator that's going bad. A local parts store will generally check it for you for free.

Bad grounds are a good place to start, adding dedicated grounds can help if that is the issue. You can test this by putting a jumper wire from the battery to wherever you suspect the problem may be like to the alternator housing, dash panel, and headlights. Test your battery voltage while the engine running which should be around 14.5 volts. On the positive side of the circut, the two fusible links from the battery side of the the starter relay to the alternator and light switch can go bad also.

yes, verifying it first will save you money. check it out and if doesn't any change occur let your friend assist or an auto electrician. try other forums to ask if you have still time.
