Heater housing

I have an 86 cj amc150 .
After my last engine change some heater hoses have been bypassed

I would like to know how to connect heater hoses between following parts (water pump , heater core , intake manifold ( in and out) and pipe near the thermostat )

do you have any pictures to do it or any advice will be welcome

As this image shows, the upper port on the firewall recieves the hose that comes off of the water pump. The lower hose goes to the intake manifold.

Upper radiator hose goes to the thermostat housing, small port on the thermo housing gets the hose coming from the front of the intake manifold.

Edit: This is an inline 6, but the 4cyl is the same.

Can the swapping between top and bottom heater core housing penalizes the heating

Could it be either the themostat or the water pump issue ?


A other question
I can not find dedicated heater housing. Could I take a standard one and cut it on the required dimensions?

I haven't heard of any problems related to swapping the hoses (input/output) if that is what you are asking.

The hose needs to be something that will take the heat and pressure of the cooling system. I would keep looking until you found heater hose.
