This weekend I ran into a pretty good rainstorm that dropped the temp to below 50 (hard to believe since it was 90+ at my house). This made me realize that I should get on fixing my heater Ricky tick.

I have almost the complete stock setup as far as I can tell except but the following needs work:
fresh air intake box is all hacked up so will need replacing
Defrost nozzle is made of sheet metal
Defrost duct is missing
Crappy stock motor

Os pricing the replacement for the fresh air intake puts me at ~$AMC 150 !!! So I figured that I might go with the Summit racing heater I've heard about. Should I stick with the 9" model @ 28k BTU or spring for the 16" model @ 40k BTU? Price difference is like $35-40. I live in CO and don't see myself wheeling through the dead of winter, so I'm thinking the smaller model.

Also, where can I find a plug for the air intake in the hood? I'm tired of getting my speakers wet!

Use to live in Rye. Hard top and hard doors or all soft? All soft go with the bigger unit. I remember my CJ5 back in the 70's barely keeping everything warm on a really cold snowy day. What are you going to do for defrost? Rod

All soft top and doors. For the defrost I was planning in getting the replacement defroster nozzle and putting in some duct between the heater and nozzle. I think that wil work...

Go for it and ghen post some pictures of what you did. I'm sure others have run into the same problem. Rod
