Hi Everyone,:)

Looking to get a heater back in my 65-CJ , I know a lot of you pull them out and when I was younger I would agree, but where & when we Hunt Deer the temperatures some times don't get above freezing all day.
I have had the likes of the old stock heater that mounts under the drivers side dash and hood and quite honestly a book of matches puts out better heat.

I have also seen the aftermarket Heatercraft & the Vintage Air versions that are pretty much a stand alone system mounted under the dash using flexible tubing.

I know there are some pretty creative people on this site so if there is something you have used , tried or seen I would surely like to hear about it.

I was also wondering if anyone had ever tried to take part of or all of , say a late 70's or eighties version plastic heater and stick it in a early CJ?
At least in picture form the size and ducting might be close?

a few guys around here have used FORD HEATERS with good luck
what ever you choose should not be hard as heaters are not that difficult to hook up

Baja, any year or model that you can think of?

I have been looking at the Vintage Air heaters / these are for street rods, nice and compact and may be suitable, just trying to figure out over the phone with them whether the plumbing will work for the defrosters and a couple of heat outlets......................and your right no Rocket science here , but just don't want to have to reinvent the wheel on this project , although I'm not far away from just bending up some sheet metal throw core an a fan behind it and call it a day.
The nice thing about some of these aftermarket heaters or an existing car heater is the valving and the ability to close off ports...............I've also got some pictures here of the late 70's CJ heater and I'm almost thinking it may work...........need to take a trip to the wrecking yard.
If you can tell me what Ford that would be a big help...........Thanks
