Hey all.
I am about to buy everything new for my 75 CJ5 dash.
this is including indicator lamps, gauges heater parts etc.
anyone have any ideas?
i was thinking to buy a replacement speedometer cluster and auto meter volt and oil gauges...
everything else on the dash i would like stock.

anyone have any suggestions???

thanks in advance:D

Oil and voltage from Summet, the rest from Morris, Four wheel drive hardware or maybe Quadratec. stuff is not too hard to find just need to shop price a bit, no reason to pay more than you have to for the same item.

Define "stock" , Jeep is not going to be able to sell you much at all for a 75 CJ5 . It's all going to be after market.

thanks for the reply!

i mean by STOCK is not too much aftermarket such as either a aftermarket gauges but i would like to have my speedo gauge and water temp etc stock like.
i also cant seem to find a close to stock heater replacements and dashboard lamps.

yeah.
only two of those lights are the ones i need.
a set that i would need is the Lights Wiper Washer and Hazard.
the heater parts i am looking for are the defrost duct and the cables.
another one is but im not sure what it is called is like the panel for the heater controls where it tells you the heat and air and has the little switch for the fan.
its plastic mounted under the dash on the drivers side of the speedo gauge and it is plastic.
ill try to post a picture of what it looks like...

I think you can find the defrost duct at Oreilly's by the foot. It's kind of expensive, for what it is, so measure what you need before you go.I don't know about the cables for this year, do they fit into a square hole?

That plastic heater-control panel may be VERY difficult to come by unless you can scavenge one from a wrecked Jeep. You may be forced to fabricate one or have one made for you.

thanks TD i might have to fabricate it myself but that wouldnt be too hard.

im not sure if they were round or square because the plastic that was around the heater cables are broke...

Do a NICE job if you do... make it look GOOD. Be proud of it. :)

I am a renewed Jeeper with my new '75 CJ5 . A lot of the parts that I couldn't get from Quadratec or other places ( seems nobody likes the '75), I have been able to get from The Jeep Guy. Google that because I don't remember the exact website. Reasonable prices and shipping. He is out of Oregon but I spring for the priority shipping. Good luck.

Yep. Thanks, Ryan is the guy, I've had two orders so far and both arrived two days after my order (priority shipping).

Here's a pic of mine ('74) for reference

The holes for the heater cables are all round and .430dia.
The rectangle "hazard" indicator and switch are not available, but the "lights" and "wipers" are the same as 76-newer. The light switch and wiper switch is still available, too.
The heater cables are 32",~30", and 21". I'm not sure if they are the same as the 76-newer as I haven't measured any of the newer ones.

I'm in the early stages of restoring my dash and have decided to replace my two gauges with autometer oil (mech.) and volt gauges that most closely match the speedo.

you know, it is getting so that most big businesses want to deal with 76 and later Jeeps, I can see why they do not want to deal with the others, 71 and older are really old and 72 to 75 are just a few years with little numbers. So we need to depend more and more on the specialty guys. We really do need to support these guys also as they do a lot for us. That is keep our junk running. I like that link to the jeep guy
Also, contact Omix Ada for a catalog, they go through vendors but they have so much stuff broken down in to the year your jeep is. Most reputable jeep businesses order through them.

Try some of these places you prob find what your looking for

Scotty's Jeep, Truck and 4x4, "World's Largest Jeep and 4x4 Wrecking Yard", in Fontana, California.
Surplus City Jeep Parts (in Oroville, California) has repro and some NOS parts.
Trail Quest, Inc. in Ohio has a web catalogue including many 3B parts.
Turner 4WD Parts Company has a detailed catalog, and ships parts and manuals worldwide from Georgia, USA.
