Does anybody know the name/code of the "tan-ish" paint color by looking at it? The Jeep is an hour away so I can't just look at the tags to try and find a paint code... Any help is much appreciated.

It's an '83. From the paint chips I found from googling, it looked like maybe either Almond Beige or Olympic White, but neither looked like an exact match.

Thanks for the info, looking at the sample of Jamaican beige looks like probably the closest.

Ha ok. I'll go with '83 Jamacian biege instead of '82. :D

X2 on Jamaican Beige

Shame on me for not looking at your profile or I wouldve known it was an 83. :chug: Whats the plan for the Cj? Thats one of my favorite color combos and I like the stance of the Jeep as well. Id shy away from those black seats in Texas though. Their bad enough here in Pa. Looks like it came with Nutmeg ones originally. 80s Cjs are my favorites. At least most of the parts besides some select transmissions.

Plan is to do what I would call a minor cosmetic restoration? I want to get full corners and sliders painted to match and get new decals laid over the body armor so it looks "factory". Repaint the rest of the exposed sheet metal. Probably leave the 4" lift, switch the shackles out for shorter ones. I have some nice Spice colored cloth faced seats to swap in as well. Other than that, not much. I'm really just wanting a classic looking cruiser/mild trail jeep.

I'd take that diamond plate off and look behind it if I were you. Maybe its typical East Coast fears but I wanna see the original sheetmetal. There is better " Armor" out there though for sure. I like your plan overall. Keep us posted. :)

Haha, I'm with you there, the diamond plate is already off... Had to see what kind of rust I'm dealing with. Driver side was solid, but had some hidden dents. The passenger side... not so much, rot holes and dents. I'll be using the hd smooth metal type armor and try to make it "blend" in as factory looking as possible. I'm pretty big on keeping it retro looking, but upgrading what I can.

Just to update the thread, finally drug the Jeep home this week and cleaned off the tag to find the paint code of 2J which confirms the Jamaican Beige! Thanks for all the help, info and input guys!
