I'm learning...but still stupid. To install my Kentrol SS gauge cover, the knobs have to be removed. They didn't have set screws or push pins so I just twisted and pulled. They came off but now they won't stay back on. Any adhesive out there that will work?

Also I cannot figure out how to get the trim ring off the fan motor knob on top (the knob is removed). I've tried unscrewing it to no avail...is there a trick?

So..if glue won't hold for the knobs to be pulled out, should I replace all 3 cables and knobs? The 3 cables just had a plastic trim ring that pushed on and they appear to be all one piece (until I ripped the knobs off). Looks like the plastic housing the trim ring covers just pushes in the hole then expands on the back.

Any help is appreciated...and thanks for taking pity to answer my stupid questions.

Not sure why you pulled the knobs off, but anyway

Try JB Weld. It worked on mine for years. I wasn't sure why I puled mine off either.

Thanks. I was under the impression that only the knobs came off and was expecting set screws or push pins. Doom on me for not looking first! Thanks. Any idea how to remove the fan control?

I picked up a set of billet knobs on Amazon for about $20. They have set screws and look great. The bezel on the fan switch is a screw on setup on my rig.

Thanks. I finally figured it out...needed what I call jeweler's pliers to turn the nut. It was different than the other 3...lesson learned! The billet knobs are a great idea and will allow me to keep my cables since there's nothing wrong with them...except no knob :) and a set of 6 is cheaper than 3 cables.
