That's nice. And not too pricey either. If I didn't have wide Renegade stripes that go across my hood (and wasn't going for the more original look), I's seriously consider one of those. But I wonder just HOW much water comes through there just sittin' still parked. You could probably fab a catch tray that you could divert the water with a small hose.
 
The object is to let the hot air out and not let the water in, 1 out of 2. If you put a straight edge on a CJ hood you find there are a Limited number of flat areas. Most of this is on a curved surface and a number of transitions. this does not look like it is going to fit the curved areas, especially at the transition areas, very well. :cool:

Nice enough looking louver. You don have to dedicate a lot of hood to it/them. But as is said above, the price is certainly right. I wonder if they can be purchased without the Poison Spyder logo on it. I am not one that likes to advertise for a company I already gave money to for their product. If they want to knock off some to add their logo, well that is another consideration. This louver is certainly a consideration. Others have one or a design that is very similar. What is their experience with water?

I think with this type of louver the amount of water getting in the hood would be minimum. At the bottom of the page in the FAQ they address this very question, the answer essentially is, engine compartments are not sealed (either in the front or on the bottom) and they are made to get wet when it rains.

I do fear about the amount of water a system like mine would allow in. Here's a thought on that. The type of louver I installed (and several others) are made for marine purposes and a bottom or catcher or what ever you might want to call them can be added with a provision for a hose. I can see adding a set of these with some sort of drain hose attached similar to the hose used on the air intake the factory adds to the cowling. I would add those with holes drilled along the very top to allow the bulk of the air in or actually out and the bulk of the water to flow out the drain hose.
