Hi-lift jack

Somewhere, and I don't remember where of the top of my head. I saw a place that made a mounting system so you could mount a highlift across the rollbar all the way in the back where it mounts to the wheelwell. It looked pretty cool.

Another option is the hood hinge mounts, a friend of mine had that, he unded up regretting it. He had to move it everytime he had to open the hood, and he swore it was always in his line of sight.

I'll see if I can find that rollbar mount one.

When I bought my CJ5 , it had the Hi-lift mounted to the spare tire carrier.

Wherever you put it, make sure its VERY secure! That thing could kill or severely maim someone in an accident. This includes those Hood-mounted units coming thru the windshield...Inside make sure its bolted to something secure.

Here is one way to mount to the roll bar...Looks pretty easy to make yourself, also.

Does anyone have any pics or suggestions on how to mount my Hi-Lift jack on my 1980 CJ7 . It is mostly stock so I don't plan on buying new bumbers with a mount.

If your wanting a bolt on mount. "Hi-Lift" sells a mount that mounts on the front bumper. I've also scene one mount sold to mount a jack across the hood. 760677_25_full.webp

Found it, River Raider Off Road

It's not for a CJ, it's for a TJ, but I bet you could make it work

This looks do-able and it should fit behind the back seat.

I kind of like it out of the weather so it will have a better chance of working when you need it but I won't be so happy with it when I just sank the foot three feet in the mud and have to stow it back in the bed. Hmmmm
IMHO
I don't like the in the weather storage, high lifts are not my favorite pieces of equipment, they are unstable and in most cases dangerous but still a good thing to have from time to time. I don't think the added aggravation of having the silly thing rusted and full of mud is a good thing.
the hood mount is for sure not the answer.

they are selling neoprene boots to cover the mechanism now, to keep it in better shape when its stored outside. The cover that came with mine is a joke, but I guess it was better than nothing.

that would be even more fun. putting a wet muddy cold jack back in a bag.:censored:

I need an attitude adjustment, I will try to refrain from posting anything else untill about Beer:45.

I purchased the offroad-accessory kit for the Hi-Lift. Turns your Hi-lift into a come-along. I've also used it as a vice! I good to have device when all else fails! I mounted mine to the rear bumper, under my spare tire. Never trusted the hood mount. seeing that mounted infront of me while driving down the highway would scare me!
