No pic's but I drilled 2 holes and used grade 8 hardware, spacers, nuts, bolts, washers, etc. If you use long enough bolts you can even drill them and install
small pad locks to prevent theft.

I don't advise mounting it outside and not on the front bumper I've seen people bend them when they hit things and then they are no good. I made a mount behind the front seats coming off the rollbar.

Does anyone have a way to mount the 48 inch HI-LIFT jack on the
stock front bumper of a CJ7 ?

I use to have my Hi-Lift mounted to my front bumper but just recently moved the mounting to the back of my CJ7 's tub.
A couple of years ago I purchased these mounts to attach my jack to the front bumper from Quadratec:
Last weekend I moved my jack to the back.
After talking with a few other "Jeep'ers" I decided the last thing I wanted to do was dig out the dirt to get it to work properly. Having the jack mounted in the back prevents the dirt build up.

I agree the best way to carry a Hi-Lift is inside the jeep. I don't, I carry it on the rear bumper because it is more convenient. My '79 CJ5 doesn't have a tail gate that opens so getting anything out of the back is a pain. I can easily remove the Hi-lift from the rear bumper but then it doesn't work because it is dirty. I don't lubricate it because that would only attract more dirt. I wish the Hi-Lift would work better in dirty conditions. Heavier springs would help there. I have to help out the springs by pressing down on the ratchet mechanism as I jack.

I looked for a picture of my mount but could not find it. I have to get a new camra sorry. What I can tell you is yes keep it inside.

Not to thread jack but what is the minimum height high lift do you all think you should have. im sure it depends on your rig. but im runnin a 3in lift with 35's any suggestions?

At least a 48". Mine started as a 60" until I trimed the end off to fit inside the tub. Had to get it under 54" to fit inside.

I ran mine on a 4xRac on the front bumper for years, was a great place for it till I mounted a winch. I would do it again

48 inch is what I'm thinkin and I guess the important thing is to have the jack when you are off-road and hope you don't need to use it...

The nice thing about a Hi-lift type jack is that you can use them for a multitude of things. One can even use them as a winch if needed.
