The Hickey Sidewinder Winch didn't sound familiar until I googled it. I remember this ad where they winched a bronco into a tree:

Dang Dave, I am old enough to recall that vividly.

Remember the Hickey Chevy K5 Blazer jump shot out of a mud hole. Petersons 4WD cover shot. Think it was white with red accents IIRC.

Jackman wheels ? Ground Hawgs ? and other old stuff.

Vic Hickey is dead. His company is out of business. I'm not sure how you will find parts.

They haven't been made since about 1988.Advance adapters bought the rights around '86 and sold them about '88.Other than wiring diagrams they no longer have anything for them.

They aren't that great but might be neat on a 70's retro vehicle build.On the chevys you had to pop the hood to plug in the controller and engage the clutch by pulling up a knob that fed through the radiator core support.On the ih scouts they mounted them between the framerails toward the rear and to the left of the Transfer Case and then snaked the cable between the engine and front axle.....kinda goofy.

I wouldnt want one unless everything was there to fit my specific vehicle,it worked,and was real cheap

Brock, a shot in the dark but if anyone would have information it would be these guys.
