High Idle Speed

This may be a stupid question. The Haynes manual says to set the high idle speed to 1400 - 1600 rpms. Does that seem too high to anyone? I have read several places on the WWW, it was supposed to idle at 500 - 1000 rpms.

That sounds about right for high idle. Base idle should be in the 600 to 800 range.
