When AMC bought Jeep they extended the hood 3 inches to allow for the AMC engines. At the time the body was changed the Jeep logo was moved. I never noticed that they moved the logo until your post. But you can see it in your pictures, whenever the hood is longer the logo is lower.

As best I can tell, AMC kept the same location through 73.
Can anyone with a 73 cj verify this?
