Hockey Pucks??

Hockey Pucks??
Kane, I agree with you, I did the same on a 1984 F-AMC 150 when I was younger and poorer, bought tires and mags and no money for a lift but a lot of hockey pucks, playing hockey and knowing the janitor at the hockey rings, they were free. Put a 3 inch body lift and last me for 4 years until I sold the truck and did a lot of hard 4 wheeling with it. Nothing to be ashemed of but just using what we have with our avaiable means ($$$)

Must be regional. I have seen a TON of puck lifts, anywhere from 1 puck to 4-5 pucks. Oddly enough, I have actually never seen a problem whit them...Go figure....

X2 on that! You damn sure don't see any of them around here!

Horn?
don't you think you could puck up a pick up if you could pick up enough pucks?

Strange, but only a few of them were CJ lifts, but man have I seen a lot of big trucks lifted with them. It was back in the giant stupid truck era, where every jackass with a pickup was lifting them by whatever means possible. Funny story. I had a buddy with a short bed Silverado that lifted the bejesus out of it. 6" springs, and 5" blocks, front and rear. Not a sigle one of the guys I knew, would ride in it. A few of us were meeting up at a local McD's parking lot to head out to Charlotte to party it up a little, and here comes Chuck with his girlfriend, shooting across traffic and jumping the curb. That's when the body fell off the springs.:D Talk about a disaster. BTW,,he had puck lift too, and damned if didn't hold up to the ensuing calamity......Jesus, I had fun when i was younger....:chug:

Well like I said I had hockey pucks on a1981 F-AMC 150 short box, 3 inch lift with 1/2 inch bolts and this lift never let me down even after years of serious 4 wheeling. I guess it depends how you do it or what your using, for sure if you go with 1/4 inch bolts even a real it won't hold. Now I don't play hockey anymore but I'm building a house so now I'll try some pieces of 2 by 4 and see what will happen. :D

You should probably use "pressure treated lumber".:laugh::laugh::laugh:

Sadly....I have seen wooden blocks used on an F-AMC 150 once..:( I think that it was then, that I lost my faith in mankind as a whole.....

IIRC, the early Jeeps used wooden inserts in the "Tophat" body stiffeners.
I know my '47 had it in them when I tore it apart. That was just the technology of the day.
