I have a Borg-Warner T-4 that I want to change fluid in.

This is what I think I know.

fill with 5 - 6 quarts of 80w - 90w gear lube.

There is a fill or drain plug on the side of the Transmission

What I don't know.

Is there a bottom plug for draining?

Any input is a appreciated.

(hard to believe there is so little concrete info out on the intertubes for this. I have searched high and lo before I ask)

there should be a drain plug on the bottom, if not, you'll have to pump it out from the side. i should have a T-4 /T-5 fsm up shortly in the docs section under CJ7

Edit: there is a factory service manual in the docs section for T-4 /5 transmissions now http://www.jeep-cj.com/docs/cj7-5/

Just don't do what I just did a couple of nights ago, try to drain the 80W oil using a funnel, it'll end up all over the floor :bang:

I took an empty half gallon milk jug and cut the side out of it.

You can lay it on the skid plate with the neck pointed out an let it run into a regular oil change pan.

There is a factory service manual posted in the docs section, it recomends 75w90, there is a drain plug on the bottom and a fill plug on the side.
