here's how to replace an alternator.
First Open the hood and locate your vehicle's alternator.
Next check the battery by the use of digital multi-meter if the result is dead (if the voltage is below 9 v it is considered as dead).
Next verify your alternator if it bad. to very this make sure your battery is fully charged.
if good battery (voltage of good condition battery is at 12-13v) is installed, onnect your digital multi-meter across the battery terminals make sure the engine is turn-off.
Start the engine and read the digital multi-meter's output. The voltage should rise near 13.5-14.5 volts.
Using a wrench, disconnect the battery's negative cable.
Disconnect the power and ground wires on the back of the alternator paying close attention to where each wire connects. Disconnect the wiring harness connector.
