I want to build a speaker box - a removable speaker box - for the Scrambler. The idea is that it'll stay in the Jeep most of the time... 'cause most of the time, the Jeep is in my garage or will be under my ***. When I know I'll be away from it, I'll leave the speaker box in the garage.

With the head unit, and possibly the amp, in the center console, I want to use quick disconnect plugs - like headphone plugs. This is where I need guidance... Anyone know of a good stereo forum... somewhere I could jump in and ask some very newbie type questions?

For example... I want to know if I can use these RCS-to-3.5mm plugs to make quick disconnects for the head unit to amp connection. But, I'll bet this is the Jeep equivalent of "Can I put 38s on my stock 1993 CJ?"

Note: there really are a couple ways to do this - amp in box, run RCA and power to box; or, put amp in center console, run only speaker wire to box... need the input of the gurus!

If you have room behind the seat and the amp is really only for the subs. I would build a box, but design it to sink the amp into it flush. Like a box with 3" thick box outside it. Then cut out an area and sink your amp into it. You can even put a fan that pushes air across.

That way you can lift it all out at once, but it would not look like crud with an amp screwed to the back or side of it and wires hanging off.
