Got tagged by a semi this morning. My poor Rubicon. Waiting on the adjuster to figure out of it's a total loss or if they're going to try to send it somewhere to be fixed. I wanna cry. :( The lift and roll bar saved my <-BAD WORD->.

Wow a semi huh. glad YOU made it out in good shape.

The rubi looks pretty good for being hit by a truck.

Boy, i bet that grille looked HUGE right then!
Funny thing most people dont know is a bobtail truck wont stop as fast as one with a trailer hooked to it.
Glad you made it out of that ok! what kind of speeds were involved?

First of all glad you are ok.

Second , now you can use the insurance money for 2 Cjs. :D

Rodger that, Glad you survived unscathed.:chug: Also congratulations on not being "PINK".;)

Glad you're ok. As far as the damage, It looks pretty minimal to me. A new door, top, and some minor body work.

Visually it's not to bad, but it hit hard enough to shift the skid plate over to the passenger side,
and both axles look shifted over to the passenger side also.
The roll bar took most of the impact, it spun the jeep beyond 180*. Luckly she stayed on the gas,
it kept the rear tires spinning during the spin around, if she had hit the brakes it woulda rolled it.
Almost rolled the tires off the wheel, one of which is messed up. She was only a few miles from the
house but said the drive home it felt wobbley, I followed her home at 30mph.
We had to tie the door shut it wont stay closed on it own.

I figure minimum, paint, door, side panel, fender flairs, 1 wheel, 4 tires, probably a new roll cage, and misc items.

I was doing about 35 - 40 when I got hit. Dunno how fast he was going when he decided to roll through the stop sign. It was fast enough that I spun around and stopped about 10 feet in front of his grill.

I am so glad you are ok. My husband, who is a truck driver, says that truck drivers are retarded. I tend to agree, but for other reasons.

Does this mean, since your ride is out of commission, you get to take his? :)

WoW that could have been much worse! I'm glad you're ok!
Sorry about your rig, but....;)
Now you can have it totalled, buy it from the insurance co, and put the running gear in a CJ and buy yourself another Rubi! :D

Anyway, good luck with everything, and don't settle for any deals unless you feel good about them!

LOL Nah. He sold his CJ about a month ago and I hate driving his pickup.

It really could have been a lot worse. Imagine if it was the stock height instead of having a 4" lift. I kind of hope it'll be totaled by the adjuster when he gets here in 20 minutes. Where we live, though, it's going to be a PITA trying to find another Rubi and get anywhere near the same deal we got with this one.

I still wanna cry.

You're probably still in mild shock. Just take it easy and let it all soak in.:)
Good luck with the adjuster! There are good deals on Jeeps, you might have to look outside your area to find it. You could always buy another jeep, and put the Rubi parts in it, if the price is right.

Well the jeep is valued at about $22k so unless the damage goes to 12k+ it's not gonna be totaled. I spoke to the body shop and now i'm just waiting ont he estimate from the adjuster.

wow, reminds me of how lucky I was to survive rolling my TJ on teh freeway 3 months ago. Glad you are ok, lots less damage than mine took.

I dont think the skid being moved is a big deal. It's not going to be quite as stable on the spacers, and a solid hit can cause it to slip a little bit. You may have a bent rim, but I would be surprised if the damage is really that bad. Hopefully, she'll be as good as new in short order, and you'll be a huntin zombies in no time at all!
