Any guesses on the amount of lift these springs would have over stock?

Looks like about four inches over the stock springs.

Really? I have no idea (which is why I posted) but I'd have bet anything 2". Any other guesses out there?

how about some measurements? depth, specifically.:D

This is all I have. It's a Craigslist deal. Gonna have to go by this alone.

looks like decent after market shackles and pretty impressive camber shims. If anything, I would say 2 1/2. Are these almost free? I hate to pay real money for a pig in a poke.:D

Yeah. Without the measurements or the seller's recollections it's hard to tell, but I've got stock springs on my CJ, 2.5" on my dad's, and those appear to be more aggressive than the 2.5". You also have to consider spring stiffness, which is impossible to tell with a photo.

I'm having the seller measure the arc radius on these. He's putting them so that they bow-up so it's resting on the eyelets, then measuring from the ground up to the underside of the spring near the thin end of the camber shims.

What number should I be looking for for a 2-2 1/2 lift?

I have two sets of BDS springs (3.5 left and 2.5 right) if this helps comparing lift?

Posi, can you measure one of the 2.5" fronts for me? Set them so that they bow-up so it's resting on the eyelets, then measure from the ground up to the underside of the spring at the highest point under there. I can then compare that with what I hear back and get a better guesstimate as to what these are...

Let's say they ARE 2-2.5's what else would I need to install these?

Thank you...

I should have been a bit more clear in my post. I posted your pic, then posted one of mine for a visual ID between the two pics.

I installed the 2.5 lift and sold the Jeep. I installed the 3.5 on a rolling chassis with only the Transmission and tcase mounted. However, I was able to achieve your measurement requests by using a yard stick across the eyelets and measuring from the top of the spring plate (SUA) to the center of the yard stick. I came up with 10 1/8" for 3.5 BDS lift springs.

Sorry for the confusion.

Gotcha Posi. No problem and thank you for those measurements. Here's what he sent back. I'm thinking these are 2 or 2.5s. You?

BDS typically gives a bit more lift then advertized. If we knew more info on what it came off like WB, and if it had a Transfer Case drop you could go by the shim attached to the spring. Rule of thumb is a degree per inch of lift.

It's hard to tell but the shim looks 4 degree, sometimes they stamp the degree on those aluminum shims maybe the seller can take a look. All things considered I'm leaning towards a used 4".

I have been watching this thread for a few days and have kept silent because to be honest I just simply do not know much about suspensions.

From what I have gathered from the responses is that there is just no way to know how much lift these will give you. Even if the dimensions were identical to another kit with X amount of lift there seems to be other factors that might cause them to have a different amount of lift, ie. age of the springs, the material of the springs, etc.

just my 2cents I would pass on this deal. If the owner could say that these springs are exactly Y brand and were originally X lift springs then that would be a different story. They may actually be good lift springs but, why risk putting in parts of questionable specs and age into a vehicle that you are using to hurl yourself down the road at highway speeds?

Well I think I'll pass then. Not enough info for me after hearing all the good advice.

I have stock springs and I'm putting on 31's and my front especially needs help. I've been planning on a 1" shackle lift only to get me by.

The tire's look perfect in the rear, but it looks a little squatty in the front and I wonder if the V8 causes springs to sag more than the I6 does or if it's just fronts in general.

I may just shackle the front and leave it at that or just replace with stock springs.

Not sure where to go at this point.

If you want to do a cheap 2" lift do Add-A-Leafs.

I have a set of add a leafs for the front springs. I was going to use them on my springs because my front is sagging more than the rear, probably because of the v8, but I just happened across a low mileage used set of superlift 1 inch springs.
