1980 CJ5, 4 cyl, Borg Warner/Ford SR-4 4 spd, Dana 300 transfer case.
Start a heart transplant mid November with LS1 and SM465 :-)
I need to remove my ignition switch on my 80 CJ5 , does anyone know of a writeup on how to get to it.

Mine is very stiff it almost takes 2 hands to turn it now.
 
It's a GM steering column. This should be the same.

I just thought of something. It could be a binding switch and not the lock cylinder. Try removing / loosening the electrical switch and then see if it (the key cylander) is still hard to turn.

Will do as it function OK but very hard to turn, It's probably had a lot of crud get in it in 42 years "LOL"
