Im off to court

Tomorow I go to court to fight for custody of my 8-week old son. This has been a hellish time for me, which started out with much joy 8 short weeks ago when he came into this world.

Over the past few weeks, I've learned a lot about my (ex)girlfriend...More then I ever new over the past year. Because of some issues involving her and her non-willingness to grow up, I was forced to get an emergency custody order to protect my son from her.

Tomorrow the judge will either extend the order to 90 days or give him back to her. In the meantime, I have filed for custody.

This has been a terrible strain on me. Not only have I taken on the sole parenting responsibilities, but Im left with the wreckage of what I thought was a promising and lifelong relationship with the person I was willing to marry.

Best of luck with it man. Men kinda get screwed with situations like this, but if she's crazy enough for the judge to grant you what he already has, you might come out good on this. Wouldn't wish that kind of thing on no one.

Don't know the whole situation of this case,But if you have emergency custody/restraining order against her already then you must have pretty good grounds for full custody!. Remember paperwork will be your best friend while in court. Best of luck to you.

The other day in court was the worst day of my life
The protection order was extended 90 days, but she is allowed unsupervised visits on the weekends...which is what I DIDN'T want considering her state of mind and the things she's already done.

Never the less, I filed for 50/50 custody with primary residency. This is a "mommy" state and it is virtually impossible to get full custody...unless I catch her doing something red-handed. I need solid proof/evidence.

a private detective can be expensive, but could also be well worth it. still it sounds like the judge believes you, about what ever is wrong with her, so there's a little ray of sunshine. congrats on the small victory man.

I did get lucky with custody of Bubba (although the ex threatens daily to take me to court.) I think courts need to be for the kid and the kids welfare, not a mommy state or whatever.

Dont forget to be quick with putting on a clean diaper...Bubba peed in his ear once
