intake/header ?

i have a AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l and i just got a header for it. my ? is where the intake and exhaust manifold meet there is a gasket for a hole where they join. do i need to block this off?

The header doesn't have a hole for the egr tube? In that case yeah block it off and disconnect the egr.

ok i can make a metal plate for it and probally reuse the gasket. i did the gaskets last summer so i hope there still good. this is the header i got.
