Good day, folks. I hope everyone has enjoyed beautiful weather like I have in Tennessee. I was fortunate to find an 84 CJ7 after returning from Afghanistan a few months ago. It's almost all stock with just over 56 grand on the odometer. I have already had so much fun driving my sons around in it.
Now for the good stuff. I want to install the safest back seat and three point seatbelts I can for my 7 and 9 year old son. I also want to add to the existing roll bar that would protect them in a rollover. I would prefer non-weld options. Safety is more important to me than price, but as a soldier I can't go crazy with the spending.
I'm excited about being on this forum and finally being a CJ owner!

Thanks, Stephen

Sport Cages

this should get you started.:D

It would be a good idea to re post the question on the body forum you will get more attention .
:ww: from the Republic of Texas.

:ww: from Colorado and thanks for your service you have come to the best site on the web for CJs

What do you do in the military son? I worked on C 130's for 27 years

I have worked on OH-58D Kiowa Scout helicopters for the last 17 years. I love turning wrenches, but my vehicle experience is very Limited , which is one of the reasons I got a CJ. Their easy to learn and work on, do now I can stop taking apart the family cars all the time. Thanks for asking about my service. I'm always interested to hear from other military guys.

Welcome to the forums crewchief. Im a new '86 CJ7 owner just south of you in Birmingham. Lots of good threads to read here. In learning about your new ride, I'd start with the stickies in each forum and go from there. (You didn't ask, but they are worthy of the mention)

Oh, and thanks for serving. Cant say that enough!!!!!:D

Let us know what you go with on the roll bars, I've got two little ones as well who have yet to ride in the Jeep due to lack of seat belts and a better roll cage.

Thanks for your service as well! I just picked up a 84' Renedage to start a frame-off restoration and learn how to work on them as well. Good luck!
