Is it supposed to ride like this?

Is it supposed to ride like this?
i dont think my 4"RC is that bad, deff stiff and i got 33s..do run 24-26 psi.

MY R/C rides just fine. when it comes down to it ur in a CJ it rides rough, bounces, jerks... kinda like a swing set rolling down the road. but you need a softer ride go with a shackle reversal kit. IMO its a better set up has pros and cons, i go over the same trails my buddies do with front shackles but i dont weave down the highway and pot holes LOL bring'um on!!! and my only con is i might have trouble using a after market steering box bracket.

Was just going to mention that. Ditto on the 26 for now and then do a chalk test.

^^^^^^^^Yep, what several have said. I dropped my pressure from 35 psi to 24 psi...road like a different vehicle...no more bouncing all over the road when I hit a bump.....and my back thanks me as well.........:chug:

But a cj doesn't have to ride like that. With good springs it can be a lot better.

Hello all
I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

I was poking around my jeep today and I noticed that the rear leaf spring mounts appear to have been moved to the front. I can't tell if the rear mounts where moved as their is little room for them to move back. Also the wheel doesn't look centered in the wheel well. I was wondering if I could get a second opinion or some dimensions to help me verify my suspicions.

Could this account for some of the rough ride I am experiencing?

Thanks,
Aaron

I think they are upside down too.:D

2" upward travel is pretty close to what you need, actually. stock suspension only had 1" upward travel. I would , ideally want a max of 3 1/2" but I don't think you would ever use it.

Thanks a lot for the correction. I was definitely going to buy some shorter
shocks.

Those are RC Nitro 8000 shocks and according to the manufacturer they can be mounted like that.

Thanks again,
Aaron

I suppose they could go up or down, shaft up may keep them out of the water more. Did you measure the total stroke on those shocks?

Do the bottom mounts show any sign of bottoming out?

The shocks don't show any signs of bottoming out and I didn't measure the total stroke. I honestly think that the springs are stiff enough that unless something radical happens they wouldn't ever bottom out. It just seemed really low to me compared to the front.
