I swear it wasnt my fault. Was just driving around minding our own business. Then this little bugger latched on and wouldn't let go. So of course we just couldn't kick it to the curb. It was lonely and in need of love & attention. Needed a good home.

Yup. Twas the Dauntless Buick 225 V6 that did it. I've drooled over those for years now. They sound so awesome going down the road.


Now I just get to learn everything about them I can.

I'll be pulling the motor, Transmission , and Transfer Case in the next few weeks. Will be rebuilding at least the motor and trans first. I'll start a build thread then.

Why do jeep transmissions hate me? Its almost as nasty as the T-176 in the 83 was. But at least I've already got the tools on hand to rebuild it.


If a mod would happen to move this to the build forum. I wouldn't complain.

Did those come with the HEI distributor or did someone upgrade it already?

I'm thinking they came with a points system & the hei is an addition. Also has headers & the remnants of glass packs.

I'm still researching info on the engine. Which isn't exactly abundant. So I'm still relatively clueless about it.

It's alive!!!

Running off a jump box, hot wire to the coil pack, a remote start switch, maybe 5 cylinders, & a squirt bottle. But it'll run.

Oiling with no noticeable knocks. Sounds goooood

Yes on the mechanical distributor.
Looks mid 1955 to 68.
