Vehicle(s)
1982 CJ 7
It has the original I6, 5 speed manual tranny and I know nothing about transfer case and diffs..
If someone is reading this please send me a message about how to figure out these things and I will get it straight
So I love my CJ7 its already in my mind that I will never let go of this dream vehicle. That being said I read through build threads and dream about a teardown and rebuild (mine is in too good of shape to tear apart).
Because of this I'm always searching facebook marketplace and Craigslist and copart for deals on something I could turn into a long term project.
I got the closest to doing such recently and thought it was worth sharing. A 1978 CJ7 Levi (Edition) edition showed up on copart in San Diego. I was born in 78 so always wanted a vehicle as old as me (my cj is an 82). My dog Levi (Edition) just passed away 2 weeks ago, he made it to 16 years old and was a great companion (pic attached). That was the real kicker... I was extremely emotional from the loss of my pup that I jumped through hurdles to bid on it.......
Ultimately I lost out on this jeep as it ended up going for more than I was willing to pay for a teardown project however I haven't given up on doing such but wanted to share.

Sorry to hear about your faithful Levi (Edition) . My dog is almost that age also. Dogs & Jeeps are like family, always dependable. Good luck finding both you love again in your search for another !

So sorry for your loss buddy.
We lost one of our fur babies a couple of years ago and I still miss my little Maddie every day. Some people just don't get it but I certainly do. I'm a crusty old man but not ashamed to tell you I cried like a baby when she passed.
Good luck on your quest for another project, there's one out there with your name on it and looking forward to your build thread.

I too am sorry for your loss - the loss of a good dog leave a hole not easily filled. It would have been appropriate to restore a “Levi (Edition) ” edition in remembrance of your bud....... keep your eyes peeled - you’ll find one soon enough......

Sent from my deck watching Lexington get absolutely hammered with lightning........

Sorry for your loss bud. My father passed away last summer, and my mother and sister were trying to get me to sell my CJ5 . They thought it was just taking up space, because i work outside the US, and i only drive it every few months. Women cant understand having a deep emotional connection to a vehicle. They just think of them as appliances. They don't understand that when I get to drive my jeep I think of the times me and my dad spent together fixing it.
