im looking to see if anyone has a picture of how the frame mounted brackets are mounted. i pulled a plow set up off my early bronco, and im curious to see how others have them mounted.:chug:

Plows are very hard on CJs I would not recommend it. IMO

im only plowing my driveway. its paved but kinda long with a big parking area. i have a snowblower, but it sucks. i plowed with my rotted out bronco, but i smoked the clutch last winter. i just need to see how the plow undercarriage is supposed to mount, so i can see if the plow from the bronco will fit

I'll try to get my brackets and plow mounts dug out this week sometime to give you an idea. Mine is an older Meyers, specifically designed for a CJ, and has a 6-1/2' blade... I need to go through everything on mine anyway, as well as work on the wire harness.. should have something for you by the weekend.. Winter is coming!!

ok, thanks

hey Niedhogg, did you ever get the brackets dug out? im having a harder than usual time figuring this thing out, and some pics would help. i know i dont have the cj brackets, but im looking to see if i can fabricate something with my Limited skills

Usually, you can call the plow manufacter and order brackets for your vehicle. I know I can with my boss and pretty sure you can with Meyer also.

yeah, but im cheap and i enjoy a challenge. i just wanna see them so i can get close, or if im in need of a brace in a certain spot, before i bend everything up

Sorry Jamie, I dug them out a couple weeks ago to get started on it, but it turns out that with my 4" suspension lift my lower mounts won't work anymore, and I'll have to make new ones now. But I gotta say, it has to be one of the simplest set ups I've ever seen. Do you have any of the brackets, or are you looking to build your own? I can at least lay them all out and take pics and measurements for you, if you'd like..

And as far as putting one on a CJ goes, I don't see the big deal... with all the other stupid plow setups I've seen people install on anything that has any type of 4x4 or all wheel drive system, I've gotta say that a CJ frame can handle the abuse far better any newer, short, small vehicle I've seen with plows, probably even better than say, an S-10 type platform. Now, I would not go driving down a highway at 60 mph with my blade on my CJ, that extra weight and short wheel base may not be a good combo for highway speeds, and my experience would dictate a similar amount of weight be added and secured into the bed of the Jeep, if you were to do so. Common sense plays a big part. They have been making snow plows for CJs since CJs were born, so if it's a bad idea then Willys and Jeep have been making bad ideas and selling them with their vehicles for a very long time. Plow on, my friend..

yeah, i dont have any bracket except bronco specific ones, ans it was a whole different set up. some pics would be great. im supposed to get 6 to 12 inches of the white stuff tomorrow. ive got it all wired, just need to see the mounts

Well, again, I'm sorry. There's no way I can get pics tonight, but tomorrow when I get home from work, I'll get them layed out and take some pics with a tape measure. You should have some idea how to build them by tomorrow night. Do you have anything, like the lift mount that sits on top of the frame? I'll get a pic of that too.

Hey, I found this pic from when I got my plow, might get you started. Measurements would be whatever your frame width is, and common sense could dictate the rest, it just needs to clear your suspension.
