I may have lucked out and found my next project or two. I will know for sure next week but I believe I have found a 48 and a 50 jeep truck. the 48 is still in possession of the horn button and the glove box doors, it is very nearly complete. the 50 has had some flathead V8 transplant done but other than that it is pretty well complete as well. They both have clear titles. I have no pictures yet and this could evaporate on the wind. they are at a very reasonable price but I will not say how much until they are mine. That way you can't know how big a dumb twit I am for not finding a way up to see then this weekend.
If this goes well I will have a good start on an incredible restoration and a bad <-BAD WORD-> and incredibly cool hotrod.
this is exciting. hopefully the excitement will carry me through next weekend and I will not cone to my senses.:D

You can come buy my CJ7 from me since she doesnt deserve sitting in the garage and not getting worked on :( I already got offered 500 bucks for my t-18a that i only paid 125 dollars for.

Is this the project we were assisting you in brainstorming with? Sounds like it could be an awesome build thread.

I can't wait to see how it turns out.:D

Sounds like a pretty cool project, hope you stay pumped till you get get it home..

I still don't own them but I have seen them and they are ugly in a most interesting way. they are both a fairly complete pile of parts.
the first is supposedly a 1949 and the second is a 50 or so the title says. I must admit I did not check the vin.
You can stop both trucks by dragging your feet on the ground.

take the good parts off them and put it all on a Chevy truck frame. You will have upgraded everything but the sheetmetal in one shot, and have a better vehicle in the end.

I used to own a couple of these also, and in about the same shape mostly. My neighbor had one that was hotrodded with a chevy engine, lowered a little and had custom paint with flames (this was in the '80s, remember). Not a bad looking rig, but still drove like a POS. Just outdated even then...

At this time I have no plans for anything but the sheet metal and maybe the frame. I am thinking perhaps a FSJ Wagoner would make a good donor for the suspension and drive train. Just about anything but a QuadraTrac .:D

Looks like a cool project, I always liked those trucks.:chug:

one of these trucks has this engine, it has no business being in a 1950 jeep truck. I am unfamiliar with this motor, does anybody recognize it?? I have tried to find pictures of every major manufacturers V8 since 1954. the two bolts on the valve cover should be something I would remember. It is sort of like a Y block Ford/ Lincoln but not quite.

Am I missing something? I don't see a pic of an engine.

Duh.:bang:
