I live here in Panama City Fla. There are 3 jeeps to every 10 vehicles. There are no jeep waves here. I drive an 81 CJ7 but I guess I'm too old.

bet if you start waving to CJs it would start being the big thing down there

the biggest thing I have found out about the Jeep Wave is...

Cookie cutter Jeep wrangler guys do not do it
if it is not a CJ or a built Wrangler they do not even understand

Guys who actually use their Jeeps do the Jeep wave

3 Jeeps to every 10 vehicles or 3 Jeep brand vehicles to every 10 vehicles? Makes a difference. The jeep wave is a Jeep thing not a brand thing.
Most likely your NOT too old... their too young to even remember Jeeps. Unless they are 27 years old they weren't even around when Jeep production ended.

Wave at them anyway man, they'll ketch on sooner or later

Wave. make them wonder who the heck you are and why your waving at them.

I have an 81 CJ7 , I can't decipher between all these new jeeps. two guys were ahead of me today at a stop light with their top off but I could see A/C vents. Whats up with that? Oh well I wave if they wave at me

I pretty much hate people in general until they give me reason to feel otherwise. :D

 I thought I was the only one who did that.

There are a TON of JKs around here, tourists and locals, and even more if you go south towards VA Beach, military, tourists and locals. I wave to everyone, most of them don't wave back, but some do. And some of them actually go by the code and wave to me first :driving:

Jeep brand vehicles

This is why. The Jeep wave is just that, a JEEP wave. It's not a Jeep brand wave so these liberty's, wranglers, commander's, cherokee's, etc. shouldn't be waving and since they don't own a Jeep, probably have never heard of it.
The Jeep wave was spawned during WW2 when the Jeep brand didn't even exist and through the years has only been a Jeep "vehicle" thing and never a Jeep brand thing. It remains so today and sadly there are fewer and fewer Jeeps left to wave to.

I believe my last jeep wave was while I was stationed at Cherry Point, and was still able to drive my CJ on the road. The guys in the TJ I waved at looked utterly confused..not really sure if it was the wave, or that they were sitting in their jeep and could see straight through under mine (I was sitting on 40" Ground Hawgs). :D

just got back from town and got several waves from the yj wrangler guys, but nonw from the CJ7 I saw.
