Ask me about my head light upgrade harness!!!
This going to be my fall winter project once Im done with project number 1. While working on project number one I stared stashing used but not needed parts.

Part number 1
Tub its in decent shape and comp cut.

Tub number 2 I grabbed this along with a bunch of other parts that I needed for a great deal. it was rotted pretty bad except forthe rear corners and cowling so I cut those peices out.

I came across the frame that went with tub number one for $100 rock solid, custom rear bumper, stretched and out boarded.

I threw up a pity post on my local jeep site and came up with a free set of front sheet metal. and a good deal on 2.5 inch springs. The fenders are shot but the inners will be good for the tube fenders.

I threw the body on the tub to get it out of the yard and clean up some.

my plan was to use the pwoertrain from an J-10 project that I got rid of for the CJ but the motor needed a rebuild.

I decided I needed a plan since I dont have enough monety do do thing twice with this. Heres how my list turned out

Rebuild 360
Dana 300
4:10's or better for the axles (20/44)
Lockers
36 or bigger tires
York for OBA
Winch
Electric fan
Tail gate
Dash
Wind shield frame
etc,etc,etc

After getting prices I realized It was going to be way more then I could afford and end up being a 5 year project at minimum. Then while trolling the craigslist I saw an add for a waggie mud truck for sale. Of course there wasnt that much info but the same ole, no title bad Transmission , good tires, runs.

So I decided maybe I could score it cheap so I call the guy to get info on it. Great running 360, with a bad T-18 , 44 front and rear 4:88 gears, detroit lockers front and rear, front has hydraulic assist, at least 10k winch SOA A?C doesnt work but all the parts are there and new 37 boggers in rear and swamper in the front:drool:. So then the great question.. How much $1000.00:banana:I grabbed the trailer and check book and 3 hrs later I was rewarded with this

I then came across another fanastic deal on a dash, tail gate, and windsheild from for 200 shipped.

So now Im just collecting and storing parts. I have a freind with a comercial powder coating business that offered to throw parts in when ever hes running the oven. I even scored a good shape Dana 300 for $AMC 150 . The waggy also has custon double cardan drive shafts that Ill be cutting down for the CJ.

Just nabbed me a set of flat top knuckles for my high steer set up. Just need to get one side machined and tapped. Also picked up a new windshield frame, glass, hinges, cowl seal and windshield to frame seal for 200..I love deals!!

I can't way to finish project number one so I can get into this one.

 Thats the smart way to do it. Ive been torn between 2 Jeeps for a couple years now.

I finally scrounged up a centered 44 rear and found a great deal on a family style roll bar. Cant wait to got to work on it.

Not so much of a progress update as a parts update

I'm going to stretch the frame 10-12" so I nabbed another donor frame.

I also got a hell of a deal on a set of more motor mounts, more hd steering brace and relocator, edelbrock intake, HEI dizzy, solid grill,V-8 radiator, out side of frame headers.

Sooo.. to much time on the internet starting leading down the road to craziness.. I decided I wanted to stretch my current frame out to the length of a CJ6 . I went on a parts run to grab some extra goodies and came home with this

CJ7 frame
Scrambler Frame
YJ front half
CJ rear half
XJ springs
CJ fuel tank, tanks skid and new sending unit
YJ family roll bar

the tub parts i bought to repair my CJ tub and make panels to extend the tub to the CJ6 length. The roll bar i bought before i decided to stretch it out. After unloading the trailer I set the tub parts on the scrambler frame and had a holy $%!& moment

Screw the CJ6 .. Im going with a 4dr CJ a quick looky and bam!
IMG_4020.jpg

With the parts I have it should only end up being alot of body work.

That's really cool, need pics of that.:notworthy:

Im hoping to get my other project wrapped up by december so I can get to work on this. Im only a few random parts short of every thing I need so Im hoping it goes quickly once I get it started.

I hate you...I've been talking about doing that for the last 4 years....lol...just kidding...drive on....so I can have a heads up on the hiccups..lol..best of luck..will be watching this one for sure..lol

Carbed 360.. Until I can get the pane..

360 should make get it up and go, Nice

Yup.. Plus the edelbrock 4bl intake, HEI, and long tube headers should help a little also.

HAvent forgot about this build.. shes still taking a back seat on the other project which is now off the jack stands and running so Im hoping to have it out by the 2nd week of march. then will take a week to get the shop cleaned out, repaired and ready for my baby!

My first jeep project has been completed and left a void in my shop. After spring break is over Im going to take care of some house chores that Ive been neglecting then start pulling the motor and axles from the Waggy.

Im gonna work on a list of parts that I need and get some before pics soon. I think I have about 90% of the needed parts so it will mostly be frame and body work to stretch it.

If my wife takes the kids for a playdate tomorrow morning I think Im going to drag out the 727 and Dana 300 and see how they mate up. If I do Ill post some pics of them going together.
