Ancient Leaf Spring AttractionI can't believe it! When did this happen? I just realized I'm a leaf spring guy! Over the last 20-plus years I've driven on, tinkered with, modified, built, broken, and rebuilt pretty much every major type of Jeep and 4x4 suspension available. But somewhere along the way I latched on to 100-year-old technology. Don't get me wrong here, I'm not the guy that slaps a set of stiff, unyielding 12-inch-lift springs on my Jeep and then proceeds to tell everyone it works great. No, I'm quite aware of my favorite suspension's shortcomings and I have no problem pointing them out to anyone who inevitably will ask me, "Why leaf springs?" when there are so many other presumably better-performing suspensions available today.
