Doug Crosby of Glendale, Arizona, has owned this beautiful orange sleeper of an ’83 CJ7 for 16 or 17 years now. Here we see Doug and the CJ on the Poison Spyder Mesa trail in Moab. Doug loves wheeling the CJ7 and apparently it has quite a reputation as a “point-and-shoot” vehicle amongst Doug’s friends. A AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l I-6 with a 4.0L head and fuel injection turns the stock T-5 tranny and a twin-sticked Dana 300 . The Lock-Righted stock Dana 30 and AMC20 are held in place by 2½-inch Pro Comp springs. Luggy 32x11.50R15 BFG KM2s on 15x9 steel wheels get the power to the rocks all over the Southwest. The Jeep and Doug have traveled through four Southwest states and from sea level to 13,112 feet, all while making bigger rigs look silly.
