I'm not really sure if this is the right place for this thread. If not i am sorry, please feel free to move it.
One day the wife started showing an interest in camping. We have a pt cruiser or the CJ7 . She insists on taking the cruiser since there is room for supplies. I really couldn't argue, so i followed her and the kid in my jeep
When we got back i went in a search to find a couple rusted, old beat up tubs. I managed to find something i wouldn't cry over cutting up and ruining an old jeep. I ended up with two tubs rusty enough to cut. I cut the back 2' off both tubs, faced them, and welded the two back halfs together. I used some flat stock over the seams as some added strength. Then lined the inside with .22ga sheet. I guess i skipped the lots and lots of sanding the surface rust away..
I welded up a frame and got some leaf springs from a cherokee. I decided to use two tailgates in case i ever want to haul anything long since the flat area inside really only measures 3'x4'.
I ran into quite a few setbacks but finally have this thing damn near done. So i just wanted to show it off a little. I had to rush getting it done so we can move so the finishing of the body work had to wait till after the move.
Yea.. Also don't pay attention to my mess i had to start gutting the garage for the move. Deciding what to keep and what to lose isn't fun..
