I would also like to add that I took a set of 33" swampers to the mountains with me but after experiencing the effects of spartan locker in the front with no power steering, I decided to run the 31" AT's. :D

:)Did you do Power Steering yet?

:D

The Michelin XZL 11.00x16's were on it when I got it.:p

The pump is mounted and I have all the parts except the rag joint from a FSJ. just need to find a j truck or waggy and pull the steering shaft. Have not mounted the steering box but I do have one. trying to stay focused on one project at a time, just to see how that works.:D Never managed to do it before.

Nix the rag joint. I went that route and kept blowing them at the most inopportune time. Spend the cash and put a flaming river ujoint setup on.

No issue since. :D

I don't see anything at flaming river to fit the steering box splines shaft on a jeep , just u joints to change direction on built shafts.

:)IO.........two ways to get there, either get a U-joint splined on one end (make sure you measure input shaft diameter and count your splines) to go with the input side of the box or if you need and extension there they have short collars splined with an allen set screw.
The other ends can be had to match whatever shaft / joint you need.......be it a collaspable double D or whatever?
You mentioned the box had not yet been mounted, best to get that in the correct position geometry wise first ..............to then understand whats needed to get the shaft to the column.

:D:D:D:D

after taking the time to look, this is a no brainer. I think the SS pinchbolt with 3/4-36 on one end and 3/4-DD on the other will cover the problem quite nicely. thanks again for the help.

Now I wish I had ordered these last week.

:)IO...10-4 on that ..........but again measure that input shaft........the heavy duty Saginaw P/S boxes with the "76" casting number on the side are normally a 13/16"x36 spline...........

:D:D:D:D

you are right under those conditions, but an 81 J-truck uses that silly rag joint and uses a 3/4-36. the calipers call it just a bit under .750".:chug:

:)IO........Cool ........that is a common problem with those splinded joints too many sizes.........just wanted to make sure your getting the right stuff.

Post some pictures,

Mine came with 32s which were about the max that would fit with no lift, and should work with a 2.5" lift, so I see no reason to change, esp with 3.54 gears and a V8. I would go 33 if the price was right, especially for the BFGs, because they are always smaller than stated. Bigger than 33s seems like an invitation to endless replacement of suspension parts over time (ball joints etc) correct me if I'm wrong :)
