What You Can Do To Help!Once again one of our most beloved off-road areas, Ocotillo Wells SVRA, is being threatened with closure to all off-road recreation activity by anti-access groups and if we don’t speak up now and let our state representatives know what a great disservice this would be to our community, we might never see another Tierra Del Sol Desert Safari or have a nice clean place to take the family out to during the holidays. We can’t just lay down and let them take away our right to enjoy this land, a land which was set aside specifically for off-highway vehicle recreation.

:madjeep:Excuse my rant, but once again, a select few are trying to tell all of the rest of us that they know better than we do ourselves, "what is best for us". The SVRA's in California are under constant attack. Since they have not been successful shutting them all down thru the legislature, now they are targetting SVRA's with lawsuits - not a new tactic, but one that is gaining traction. It is up to us, the general public and the responsible users of the land and trails, to stand-up for our rights - We need to say loudly, and with a clear voice that we support responsible land use, and that INCLUDES responsible use of off-road vehicles in state and national parks and recreation areas!

If you live in California, please take the time to contact your State Senator and State Assembly person for your district, and let them know that you support responsible use of off-road vehicles! Every voice DOES count! - Please support those groups that are putting up a fight, or better yet, please get involved! There are many great 4x4 clubs that are doing great things to keep our trails open, and working with local officials to let them know that WE ARE THE VOTERS TOO! If you don't take the time to speak up, the same fun and freedoms that we have enjoyed with our families on the backwood trails of California (the favorite fishing spot, the get-away camping spot, the favorite off-road trail) will NOT be available for our kids!
