Leaky Gas Tank

Provided It's the right tank, and you have the correct sending unit, It should be a direct fit. You will probably have to add a skid plate spacer to allow for the extra depth of the tank.

Try some soap for right now. It works.!Just rub it on the leak.

You can also get a 15 gallen plastic tank. 4wd.com

How bad of a leak are we talking about and where is it coming from? If it was a total rusty P.O.S. like mine was then it needs to be replaced. ( I had no bottom in my tank). However if you have a pinhole or something like that then I would patch it. No I don't mean JB weld or any half assed stuff like that. Drain the tank, hook it up to an exhaust pipe of a running vehicle. After it has been running for awhile you are safe to braze the tank. Again big leak from rust, just replace it.

As gravity would have it, mine has started to drip. Just an excuse to go poly.

Well I don't need the skid to be any lower. I doubt soap will work here. I haven't pulled the tank down yet to see the actual hole, but it leaks a considerable amount. I haven't been driving it because it leaks so much. It was just an occasional drip, but after some rock crawling it started leaking steady.

I will go with a 15 gal. so that I don't lose any clearance underneath.

Update:
I ended up getting a 15 gal. replacement tank, skid and sender from Crown. Everything has been working fine, except for the damn gauge!
