OK, lets see the most ridiculous things that your P.revious O.wners did!!
From hockey puck lift kits to spray foam body filler and dont forget the good ole duck tape :D

I know I have seen some hilarious rigged up stuff on here so lets gather it all in one place.

Post up pictures of the craziest PO problems.

Maybe we can eventually gather the pics and vote on the best one!!

:chug:

The pics dont necessarily have to be yours.

good idea!

I don't have a picture handy but I would like to start with whoever rebuilt? my 3b, the Transmission had a broken tab on the front face of the case that would bolt to the bell houseing and instead of welding it back or replacing the case the thought it was fine to just silicone it back to the case? good thing there were 4 other bolts holding the Transmission to the engine.

hahaha wow thats impressive.

I cant find any pictures but i used to have an old CJ5 that i should never have gotten rid of and the whole entire wiring harness was made of sheathed house wiring with the big wiring nuts! but hey at least it was the nice romex! Every wire under the hood and behind the dash was made of romex. The thing that pissed me off was that if he only used 1 or 2 wires he still left the other wires in the sheath so there were tons of wires that went nowhere

it was deff an OSHA approved jeep

Lol that looks like a CJ7 I brought home a couple years ago...spray foam was the only holding the seat and rollbar in on the passenger side...

next jeep i get ill remember to ask if it contains any spray foam
i have never heard of that till this week. thats too funny

The wiring hanging out from under the dash and the hole where the radio used to be, the rhino lining on the outside which was sprayed over dirt, the Pipe bumper welded to the frame.

My stories aren't as dramatic as some of the above. And I don't have pictures but...

I was replacing the valve cover gaskets on an 85 Grand Wagoneer I used to own only to find that the PO had used a wood screw in one of the holes.

I knew the body tub my CJ was rusty and in poor shape overall. I bought it so I could off road it without worrying too much about body damage. But I did want to take care of some of the bigger cancerous rust spots where the body is just eating itself away. I found along the drivers side front rocker panel a patch job with bondo that was at least 1/4 to 1/2" deep. I may be able to get a picture of that one...

haha welded frames, wood screws, spray foam, house wiring, and siliconed mechanical parts..... yep sounds like a jeep forum

Red Necks gota drive something! and we do our OWN work too!:chug:

Sat for five years but I drove it home with a gas can and some fuel hose.

Im looking to purchase a CJ3b sometime in the near future. cant wait to see what 60years of POs can bring!

Here's my fav. PO replaced the motor mounts and put the bolts in the wrong way... both sides! They had gouged a 3/4" groove into the shoulder lugs of the tire. Good thing it came with bogger tires, any other tire would probably be torn open.

Another good one was the wired in and actually working (well, one side) power seats

Hey wait a sec BC CJ - That is my jeep how did you get a pic of it. And to think I had a one of a kind:confused:
