I have been seeing video's on you tube with cj's with 44's on them. Who makes a kit big enough for this and how high would you have to go for this.

Nobody.
You'll need about 15"-16" of lift, maybe a little less with judicious fender trimming.
I'd start out with a SOA with custom springs, a 1" body lift & a little fender trimming should get you there.
What CJ are you planning this monumental project on?
Look at my images, my rig is on 38"s, it's a SOA with a 1" body lift, 4" spring lift.;)

Oh by the way. Welcome to the site.:chug:

Check this Florida swamp monster.

Now that's a YJ!

The only thing the wheel wells are good for is running the exhaust:eek:

I've got a 1974 CJ5 that I'm going to be lifting.

I hope you have some experience driving tall Jeeps, the CJ5 's SWB makes them real twitchy. In other words they like to swap ends. If you want to go tall you will want to look into extending you wheelbase. My rig is my DD, most people with those CJ5 's on 44"s are off road only.;)

IMO 44's are WAY to much for a CJ5 .
Also if you have to ask how to do it, It's going to be way over your head to do it.
Also as Horn said the ones you are seeing are for offroad or show only.

I want to buy a 4 inch suspension lift for my 1981 CJ7 i am looking at rough country for $439 and Skyjacker for about twice the money. I heard skyjacker rides better, does it ride better and is it worth twice the money. can anyone give me some advice

Do you really want to go that high? I bought my CJ5 with a already installed Rubicon Ex 4.5 lift and thought it was too high even with the 33x 12.5's on it. I since have replace the kits 5" shackles with 3-1/2" and removed two rear leaves making it about a 3" lift +- and is still plenty tall, maybe just a tad higher than I would like for the now 31x10.5's I have.

Oh and by the way, if you do go 4" lift plan on a lot more than just the kit. Brake lines, shocks if not in the kit will need to be longer, pitman arm, degree shims, longer and CV driveshaft, and some others but you get the idea I hope? $$$$

well I'm not new to cars been working on them for over since I was 12yrs old. Also I know how to build things, been building drag cars for a long time. So to say if I have to ask then it's over my head is wrong. I was asking just to see if anyone made a kit for cj's to fit that big of a tire. And no mine isn't going that big, I'm going with 37x12.50-16.5's on it. I figure with a SOA kit and a total of 7.5-8"s of lift and tube fenders in the front and enlarging the rear wheel wells I should be able to get these tires ti fit ok. At least thats what the folks I'm working with say.

Rubicon Express sells a pretty complete 4"kit.
It comes with stainless steel brakelines, drop pitman arm, degree shims, shocks & some nice springs. IMHO 4" isn't to much, but as with all things beauty is in the eye of the beholder.;)

SOA, 21/2" springs & maybe a 1" body lift should fix you right up.

I very much love my skyjackers and although I have never used Rough country I hear they are just that, rough. From what I have heard, skyjacker and Old man Emu are the best riding but I don't think OME makes a 4" lift.

beauty is in the eye of the beholder.;)

You worded that that wrong longhorn its " Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder" GOD I thought you would get that after being alive so many more years then I! I was wondering when you got your 8 what made you decide to lift is higher then your farm equipment? and how did you design your lift?

It was trial & error, that's why I have longer shackles on the back than the front.;)

You also have to look at what all comes in the "kit", they are not all the same.
Most people think the rc rides really rough.
IO seems to like his skyjacker, and I have been happy with my superlift.
For even more money you can step up to OME or RE. that will get you the best ride.;)

The RE is nice, but you are paying a lot for the name IMHO
I think a few others offer as much as they do for less
the rough country lift for me is rough
I agree with warning about the amount of work involved in a 4 inch lift, we do not know everyone's experience and we get a lot of newbies here who read a lot of the magazines and are zombies for height with no idea what so ever for what it takes. Sorry if we stepped on toes but there are a lot of project CJs out the gone wrong because someone did not mention stuff like that.
