Long shackles can flex. If you have long shackles in front it can cause bad wander. New to the Game you were saying you were all over the road and it sounds like your shackles are the problem. Replace them with shorter shackles and new poly bushings. If your jeep is too low then try lifted springs.

^^^what he said^^^
Long shackles also cause driveline problems since it changes the angles.

long shackles change the castor of the axle and make things wander.

i just put on a Rough Country 4in long arm lift with the tummy tuck on my buddys 03 TJ, grant it there isnt any leaf springs but talk about alot of flex and ride quality... I like Rough Country personally.

Hey ,
Goods luck with the lift. I just wen to Rocky mountain off road for my 4 " springs. I did the yj conversion. And It seems like my 4" lif has transformed into 6.5" . This won't matter due to I was intending on some Woods drive shafts. My springs and bushings cost $475 shipped to my door. They came with the shims and inserts for bushings. My Y j conversion with front and rear heavy duty spring plates shackles and shackles about $250. shipped. Somfor less than 8 bills I got a solid good lift. I bet the lower 2.5 are a little less expensive. And these springs are military wrap. So you can spend good money on cheap kits or do some research and find great springs and components around the web. Yeah yeah I wont have a set of shocks...but I had other desires in that department. I already had a drop pitman so what are you really gettting ? I will do heavier duty ubolts to hold up to the beating. I will be purchasing those locally. Heck if you can wait a bit for Rubicon to get back up and running that would be the way to go. Yeah its about 1200 bucks but I will have for more into the whole thing when I am done but then again I am a bit touched thinkin that a 6 " lif is gonna be no 9issues on a CJ5 .

I bought a Rough Country for a XJ I use to have. The name says it all. The money I saved by buying the cheaper Rough Country lift was spent on gas running to all the parts stores trying to find the right u-bolts for the rear end. (kit came with stock length bolts)

i just recently bought a 4 inch superlift for my jeep with shocks and everything including the drop pitman arm! ran me around 450.00 but it looks great. if you want more height get some lift shackles. they set up pretty nice.

Where did you find that lift for that price, and what else came with it or was that it. Looking for a good and somewhat cheap 4" in complete lift for my 85

And havent heard anyone talk about extending driveshafts for a 4" lift. Does that need to be done for going that tall?

I have a 4" lift and a stock lenght rear shaft. It could stand to be a inch or so longer though, as it's fully extender when the rear is drooped out.

When I bought mine there 7 or so years ago I got there special as it was made by superlift. I'm still running it and have been happy/, it was a little stiff when new but a few trail ride later it rides fine.
