As of March 2, 2015, I have owned my Jeep CJ7 for 30 yrs.
Bought it new from Larry Reed Sports Cars in Torrance Ca.
Sure didn't think I would still have to SMOG test it, every 2 years
Got 121K driving miles, and bet another 15K+ miles from be'n tow'ed behind my RV all over the western USA.

Never heard of that name as a Jeep dealer.
Interesting.

Got mine from Jim Allie jeep Oldsmobile in Dallas in 1977.:D

He was a small AMC/Jeep dealer that had started out sell'n sports cars. Bought my first car from him in 1968(Triumph, Spitfire). Long gone, there's a McDonald's there now.

KWEL-Bet you don't have to 'sweat' smog tests either :notworthy:

How long have you had yours?

Cool, congrats. Now pass some of that birthday cake this way!:chug:
Next month on the 9th I'll have had mine for 33 years. And in a couple months I'll finish my build and it will be almost as new.:D

Lumpy, you should celebrate by taking that old rig out on a trail run. This time of year is perfect for the Mojave Desert with those sunny warm days.

Happy Birthday to your CJ, that's very cool. :notworthy: Wish I would a bought that new
81' CJ8 instead of the Ford I got (68' Bronco), still kicking and kicking.....

Would like like to read about this build.

Last weekend of March, I will be camping with The Roughwheelers 4WD Club at El Mirage OHV Park 'cutting' more trails for the BLM/Park Service.

Point taken, you've kept your CJ to the point where she's a good friend..... But mine is older..... We both know about every nut and bolt on our CJ's, I just had to do it quicker that you did.

No 'point' intended-Just curious as to how long you have had yours.
They do tend to become part of the family :D

Maybe I've got to change my thinking, every time I use the term ... Point taken .... I get the impression that someone thinks I'm upset or maybe keeping score somehow. to me "point taken" means good thought, or I understand, or I see your point of view, or I've given things another consideration. It's a simple urn of a phrase...

I've only had this CJ about 3 years, but with all the work it needed it seems longer. My previous CJ and the things I did with it seem to meld into the same vehicle even thought I sold that CJ 24 years ago. ..... that is a fact that's hard to believe, it is still fresh in my mind.

Congratulations, not many can match 30.

March 11 1990 I took possession of my CJ5 from my stepfather who bought it a year prior and left it in the back yard. It will be with me forever.

Hey wait. Thats today!!! Woo hoo 25 years. Man I was so busy today I didn't even notice.

:agree: How much original parts are left?

Engine, tranny, body(some dents:D) and most of the paint.
Still run'n the OEM seats and carpet.
